A few simple changes in your lifestyle may be all that is needed to prevent indigestion. For example, do not eat just before going to bed, and avoid irregular and hurried meals. Stop smoking and cut down on alcohol. Try yoga or some other form of stress reducing exercise. Certain drugs, and the female hormone progesterone, can sometimes heighten indigestion. But if you suspect that a drug you are taking is doing this, always consult your doctor before you stop talking it.
